The Remote HCC Coder will be responsible for accurately reviewing and coding medical records using CMS-HCC and ICD-10-CM guidelines. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a remote environment, are self-motivated, and are highly skilled in medical coding for risk adjustment.

• Perform detailed review and analysis of patient medical records and encounter data to assign appropriate HCC and ICD-10-CM codes

• Ensure accurate coding in compliance with CMS, ICD-10-CM, and HCC risk adjustment guidelines

• Meet or exceed productivity and accuracy standards

• Maintain coding accuracy through internal audits and regular feedback

• Collaborate with coding auditors and management to ensure compliance with all coding protocols and updates

• Utilize coding software and technology efficiently to maximize productivity

• Provide timely and professional responses to coding queries or issues

• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

• Current certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CRC, CCS, or equivalent) required

• Minimum of 2 years of HCC coding experience

• Strong understanding of CMS-HCC risk adjustment models and ICD-10-CM guidelines

• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Ability to meet productivity goals and accuracy standards in a fast-paced environment

• Proficient in coding software, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote teams

• Reliable high-speed internet connection and secure workspace
